Decorreu no passado dia 25 de novembro na Quinta da Azenha de Baixo em Gondomar a I Gala da APOGK. Num ambiente cheio de glamour mais de 200 pessoas marcaram presença num evento no qual se comemoraram os 35 anos da IOGKF Portugal (APOGK).

Após o jantar, o Presidente da Assembleia Geral Dr. Elísio Sousa confidenciou que a APOGK é efetivamente a maior Associação de Karate do país e que a sua grandeza é alicerçada na figura do Sensei Jorge Monteiro. Mas como uma casa não se constrói apenas com pilares, o Dr. Elísio lembrou a importância do papel dos Instrutores na ‘corporização’ da nossa Associação.

Seguiu-se o discurso do Instrutor Chefe Nacional Sensei Jorge Monteiro que começou por agradecer a presença de todos bem como o envolvimento e a dedicação dos diversos departamentos da APOGK. De seguida fez uma abordagem aos marcos do Goju-Ryu em Portugal e da IOGKF Portugal (APOGK) desde 1977 até aos nossos dias.

Após as palavras do Sensei Jorge Monteiro foram entregues os Troféus e diplomas de mérito desportivo relativos à época passada, os diplomas de DAN e o reconhecimento de Instrutores com 25 anos de Karate. Antes do final da gala, estava ainda reservado um dos momentos mais emotivos da noite: a sentida homenagem ao Sensei Vitor Veiga pelos seus 40 anos de dedicação ao Goju-Ryu e à APOGK.

A I Gala APOGK foi sem dúvida alguma um momento de reforço de laços entre os membros da grande família da IOGKF Portugal na certeza de que esta continuará ativa na preservação deste verdadeiro património cultural que é o Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Do.

On November 25th at Quinta da Azenha de Baixo in Gondomar, it was held the Dinner Commemorative of the 35th Anniversary of IOGKF Portugal (APOGK). In a glamorous atmosphere the event was attended by more than 200 people.

After dinner, the Chairmain of the Genereal Meeting Dr. Elísio Sousa told that APOGK is effectively the largest Karate Association in the country and that its greatness is based on the figure of Sensei Jorge Monteiro. But as a house is not built only with pillars, Dr. Elísio remembered the importance of the role of the Instructors in the ‘embodiment’ of our Association.

Dr. Elísio was followed by the National Chief Instructor Sensei Jorge Monteiro, who began by thanking everyone for their presence and the involvement and dedication of all IOGKF Portugal departments. He sumarized the Goju-Ryu landmarks in Portugal and the IOGKF Portugal (APOGK) from 1977 until today.

After the words of the Sensei Jorge Monteiro were awarded the Trophies of sport merit related to the last season, the DAN certificates and the recognition of Instructors with 25 years of Karate. Before the end of the gala, one of the most emotional moments of the night was still reserved: a heartfelt homage to Sensei Vitor Veiga for his 40 years of dedication to Goju-Ryu and APOGK.

This event was undoubtedly a moment of strengthening ties between the members of the family of IOGKF Portugal in the certainty that it will continue to be active in the preservation of this true cultural heritage that is the Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Do.
