o Estágio realizado na cidade da Maia nos dias 16 a 18 de junho de 2017 tratou-se do maior Gasshuku de sempre organizado pela IOGKF Portugal (APOGK) contando com a presença de mais de 1400 praticantes

O Estágio Nacional de Verão iniciou na sexta-feira dia 16 pelas 19h30 conduzido pelo Sensei Jorge Monteiro (Instrutor Chefe de Portugal) e pelo Sensei Ernie Molyneux (Instrutor Chefe de Inglaterra). 

O Sensei Jorge Monteiro começou por homenagear o Sensei Álvaro Reis pela sua lealdade e perseverança bem como pela sua dedicação ao Goju-Ryu sem interrupções desde 1976 sendo um exemplo a seguir pelos praticantes mais novos.

the Gasshuku held in the city of Maia from June 16 to 18, 2017 was the biggest Gasshuku ever organized by IOGKF Portugal (APOGK) with the attendance of over 1400 athletes

The National Summer Gasshuku began on Friday 16th at 7.30 pm conducted by Sensei Jorge Monteiro (Chief Instructor of Portugal) and Sensei Ernie Molyneux (Chief Instructor of England).

Sensei Jorge Monteiro began by congratulating Sensei Álvaro Reis for his loyalty and perseverance as well as for his dedication to Goju-Ryu without interruption since 1976 being an example to be followed by the younger practitioners.

Apesar das condições climatéricas exigentes, mais de 200 cintos pretos e castanhos estiveram focados na Kata Gekisai dai Ichi e na sua Bunkai sob orientação do Sensei Ernie Molyneux.

No final do treino o Sensei Ernie Molyneux lembrou que o Goju-Ryu desenvolve capacidades ao nível da reação e reflexos e que numa possível luta real o controlo da distância em relação ao oponente é fundamental.

Despite the hard weather conditions, more than 200 black and brown belts were focused on Kata Gekisai dai Ichi and his Bunkai under the guidance of Sensei Ernie Molyneux.

At the end of the practice Sensei Ernie Molyneux said that Goju-Ryu develops reactive and reflex abilities and that in a possible real fight the control of the distance from the opponent is very important.

No sábado, os mais de 1400 inscritos foram divididos por graduações e por 3 locais de treino e foram orientados alternadamente pelo Sensei Jorge Monteiro e pelo Sensei Ernie Molyneux. Foram ainda submetidos a exames de graduação pelo Painel de Examinadores cerca de 800 atletas tratando-se de mais um recorde para a IOGKF Portugal (APOGK).

Dado que este Gasshuku foi também um Estágio federativo, os Instrutores da nossa Associação tiveram ainda a oportunidade de frequentar uma ação de formação ministrada pelo Sensei Abel Figueiredo – 7º DAN (AKV – Associação de Karate de Viseu).

On Saturday, more than 1400 attenders were divided by graduation and 3 training areas and were alternately conducted by Sensei Jorge Monteiro and Sensei Ernie Molyneux. More than 800 athletes were also submitted to graduation examinations by the Panel of Examiners, being another record for IOGKF Portugal (APOGK).

This event was also a federative Gasshuku. The Instructors of our Association also had the opportunity to attend a training course taught by Sensei Abel Figueiredo – 7th DAN (AKV – Associação de Karate de Viseu).

À noite realizou-se o já tradicional jantar de Instrutores que contou com a presença de mais de 70 Responsáveis por Dojo de Norte a Sul do país. Estiveram ainda presentes o Sr. Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Maia Eng.º Bragança Fernandes e o Sr. Vice-Presidente Eng.º Tiago.

In the evening there was the traditional instructor’s dinner which was attended by more than 70 Instructors from North to South of the country. The city’s mayor was also present at the dinner.

Durante o jantar de Instrutores o Sensei Jorge Monteiro começou por agradecer ao Sensei Ernie a presença neste evento e relatou a forma como se conheceram em 1978/1979 naquela que viria a ser a 1.ª reunião com vista a formar a IOGKF em Inglaterra. Afirmou ainda que este Gasshuku foi uma excelente oportunidade para o Sensei Ernie conhecer a verdadeira dimensão e o trabalho da IOGKF Portugal e que este tem sido potenciado pelo facto do Instrutor Chefe Nacional contar com o auxílio dos seus Instrutores que têm sido autênticos pilares da nossa associação. 

 

During the Instructor’s dinner, Sensei Jorge Monteiro began by thanking Sensei Ernie for conducting this event and reported on how they met in 1978/1979 in what would become the first meeting to form the IOGKF in England. He affirmed that this Gasshuku was an excellent opportunity for Sensei Ernie to know the true dimension and work of IOGKF Portugal and that this has been possible because the National Chief Instructor has the assistance of its Instructors who have been authentic pillars of our association .

“Vim pela primeira vez a Portugal em 1987, a Lisboa, a convite do Sensei Jorge. Nós conhecemo-nos muito antes disto e sempre fomos amigos chegados.

Penso que devem estar muito orgulhosos da vossa associação. A vossa associação é provavelmente uma das melhores da IOGKF, não só por causa das estatísticas, pelo número de graduados e Instrutores ou pelo número de dojos mas sobretudo devido à vossa lealdade para com o vosso Instrutor. Ele é um bom homem e um excelente Instrutor e é isto que vos permite ter esta performance.

Muitos Instrutores na IOGKF com graduações superiores à minha e à do Sensei Jorge não têm os alunos que ele tem e que eu tenho e isto só se consegue através da lealdade, treino duro e um bom coração. Assim, gostaria de agradecer a todos por me sentir tão bem recebido em Portugal e a todos os que ajudaram a organizar este Gasshuku. A organização foi de facto excelente.

Este Gasshuku foi quase tão grande como o World Budosai em Okinawa. Os meus maiores agradecimentos para o meu grande amigo Sensei Jorge Monteiro.”

A manhã de domingo foi dedicada ao Jyu Ippon Kumite, ao Renzoku Kumite e a alguns exercícios de base. O Complexo Municipal de Ginástica da Maia foi manifestamente pequeno para acolher uma participação recorde de atletas tornando o Estágio Nacional de Verão um momento verdadeiramente inesquecível na história da IOGKF Portugal (APOGK).

Sunday morning was dedicated to Jyu Ippon Kumite, Renzoku Kumite and some basic exercises. The Municipal Gymnastics Complex of Maia was manifestly small to welcome a record participation of athletes making the National Summer Gasshuku an unforgettable moment in the history of IOGKF Portugal (APOGK).
