Decorreu no passado sábado dia 18/02/2017 no Pavilhão Municipal de Chaves o Estágio Nacional da IOGKF Portugal (APOGK) orientado pelo Instrutor Chefe Nacional Sensei Jorge Monteiro. Durante a manhã, o treino dos cintos negros focou-se na Kanryo Higaonna e na Chojun Miyagi Sanchin e na forma correta de se executar o Shimé. A partir das 11 horas, mais de 300 participantes tiveram a oportunidade de treinar a kata Gekisai dai Ichi.
Na presença de um representante da Câmara Municipal de Chaves, o Sensei Jorge Monteiro lembrou que as ‘sementes’ do Goju-Ryu e da IOGKF Portugal foram lançadas há 20 anos na cidade de Chaves e que desde então têm sido muitos os cintos negros formados nesta cidade. O Instrutor Chefe Nacional aproveitou ainda para fazer os presentes refletir nos valores que o karate tenta transmitir como o respeito pelos mais velhos, o respeito pelos mais graduados, a etiqueta no dojo, a humildade e a camaradagem.
O almoço conjunto ocorreu no Regimento de Infantaria de Chaves tendo sido um importante momento de convívio entre karatecas oriundos de várias zonas do país. Durante o período da tarde foi ainda possível treinar kakie e randori.
No final do treino o Sensei Jorge Monteiro agradeceu a forma como Chaves e os seus karatecas acolheram este evento bem como a presença de atletas do Porto, Mêda e Lisboa reafirmando verdadeiramente a dimensão nacional da IOGKF Portugal (APOGK).
